Backwards Day. Every Tuesday here at camp is Spirit
Day. This is a chance for students
to show their spirit for the YSEL camp and have some fun. Our first Spirit Day yesterday was
Backwards Day. This is a day where
we do everything backwards—wear our clothes backwards, sit and walk backwards,
say our names backwards, even sing backwards. Sing backwards? Yes.
We have special songs we sing in the morning and in the evening before
going to bed, so yesterday we began with “Good Night Ladies” and ended with “Oh
What A Beautiful Morning.” In the
dining hall we have a rule—“Ladies first” but on Backwards Day, the boys got to
go first. But that was the only
time that will happen, for we go back to our normal routine tomorrow!
Stay tuned for more Spirit Days to come. Next Tuesday is Twins Day.
